"Who looks outside, dreams;
Who looks inside, awakes."

— Carl Jung

As a sentient being that thinks...

We each have a conscious mind, the part of our identify that we consider to be our "self".

There are things within our control, and events out of our control.

Overtime as we gain more and more experience, we become more able to build our "self"s more purposefully, planning ahead of time and gathering resources to increase our control over how we grow and maneuver our lives.

How we see the world, our individual values (internal) and what we value (external) in this world...

The way we percieve the world affects how we problem-solve and navigate our lives.

Our values and principles guide us in how we take action or draw the line.

The events / entities / things that are important to us (or less important), affect our motivations and how we piroritise events / entities / things in our lives.

Learn to manifest your true potential

You must understand how to guide yourself to do the tiring and tedious things, in order to reach the destinations you planned for.

To do that, you need to be able to adapt your lens of perceptions to see the world from different angles, understand what are your core values that guides your decision making, and being able to self-motivate and self-discipline yourself into completing the necessary journeys to reach different end goals and dreamt of destinations.

As Quintus Horatius Flaccus (aka Horace), a Roman poet noted "Rule your mind or it will rule you."

One way to help expand your thinking and understand yourself better is to read Philosophy and Psychology books. Below is a Philosophy summary from Ali Abdaal's YouTube Channel about a Philosophical school of thought "Stoicism".

According to "Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy", "Stoicism" divides virtues into four main types:

  • Wisdom
    • Good sense
    • Good calculation
    • Quick-wittedness
    • Discretion
    • Resourcefulness
  • Justice
    • Piety
    • Honesty
    • Equity
    • Fair dealing
  • Courage
    • Endurance
    • Confidence
    • High-mindedness
    • Cheerfulness
    • Industriousness
  • Temperance/Moderation
    • Good discipline
    • Seemliness
    • Modesty
    • Self-control
