{"id":3476,"date":"2025-06-18T08:31:17","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T08:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gnomeledge.com\/QH2301B\/?p=3476"},"modified":"2025-06-18T08:31:46","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T08:31:46","slug":"ite-news-160-national-service-ns-deferment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gnomeledge.com\/QH2301B\/2025\/06\/18\/ite-news-160-national-service-ns-deferment\/","title":{"rendered":"[ITE News #160] National Service (NS) Deferment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dear Class,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the male and some female children will probably be <strong>receiving your NS letter<\/strong> around this time period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be told that you have a <strong>limited time duration to apply for NS deferment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For<strong> poly EAE hopefuls<\/strong>, yes when you apply for deferment, the <strong>Course Commencement should be April (2026) for most poly diploma\u00a0at\u00a0your level<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If later on next year, you are <strong>unable to get into poly<\/strong> (fail EAE, DAE, JPAE) and fail\/never sign up with any of the <strong>approved diploma programmes<\/strong>, I believe the rule is you will not be allowed anymore deferment and <strong>will begin NS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can <strong>clarify with CMPB or read up in NS portal for more accurate info<\/strong>.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmpb.gov.sg\/before-ns\/pre-enlistment-process\/deferment-for-studies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.cmpb.gov.sg\/before-ns\/pre-enlistment-process\/deferment-for-studies<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please start to <strong>bookmark the NS Portal<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ns.gov.sg\/web\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.ns.gov.sg\/web<\/a>).
