The Sivadas-HEB Education Fund, a fund established by the trustees of the Estate of the Late Sivadas Sankaran, provides needy Hindu children with financial assistance to help them meet the cost of their education.  

The Fund is inviting Hindu students from low-income families to apply for an Education Grant.  This “one-off grant” can be used to purchase books, IT equipment or other educational materials. 

Education Grant

The Education Grant is for students pursuing:

  • a first undergraduate degree in NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD or SIT
  • a first diploma in Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic or Temasek Polytechnic
  • a publicly funded Diploma programme in LASALLE College of the Arts or the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts
  • a course in any of the Ministry of Education’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE)

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents
  • Must be Hindus
  • Monthly household per capita income must not exceed $1,900

Value of Award

The Education Grant is a one-time award, up to a maximum of $1,500 as determined by the Sivadas-HEB Education Fund.

Closing date for applications is 27 September 2023.  Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview within 3 weeks of the closing date.
