Hi class,

As the lessons begin to get harder, you will realise that some of the modules actually build on top of knowledge and skills from previous modules… which you may not have been paying much effort and attention to.

Whatever the reasons, there are times you piroritise one area of your life over another. You will then have to own the lack of growth in the areas you neglect.

Similar to how someone who stay at home and study and avoid PE lessons tend to get good grades (advanced mind powers) BUT not so great body physique (lesser physical abilities and charisma).

If you never put in much effort to complete your academic training, then you will own the state of your mental capabilities.

How does ITE calculate the GPA and cumulative GPA? The above image is taken from the ITE website. Ref: https://www.ite.edu.sg/admissions/assessments/grading-system-and-grade-point-average-(gpa)

The more capable ones may wanna build your own GPA calculator in Excel or with Scripts, to help the rest of your classmates. Those As in Data Fundamentals AND Python Programming, start giving back please.

In the event you receive a module failure, you will recieve 0 GPA for that module. It will drag down your entire cumulative GPA (CGPA) calculation.

You will be required to retake the module next year, added on top of whatever new modules you will be taking.

Once you pass the module under retake next year, its GPA will be added into your CGPA as an extra module. The previous 0 GPA will still remain in the calculation.

If you don’t wake up after your first failure and learn to do better, my advice is that you will need to reflect a bit.

Is this course is right for you?

Do you really really want to be: A Creator? A Builder? A Designer? A Programmer? A Problem Solver? A Path Finder?

As long as one of the paths is something you want, then stay on. Struggle and do your best.

Creating anything requires combination of perceptions, knowledge and skills. You will never be the best in everything, but you can start by being the best in a few things, or average in a lot of things.

IF you put in effort and stay interested, the teachers will help you in your weaker subjects.

ELSE IF you are disinterested, then start thinking. What do you want to learn? How do you want to grow your mental strength? Maybe you want to start working first?

Then you decide, talk to your parents, get their advice and own your journey.
