Earlier this year, three teams of students from Institute of Technical Education College West’s School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology (SEIT) participated in the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors Award 2025.

✨ Team 1 – Prince Daniel, Siti Murnirah, and Thoufeek Ahamed – explored the design of a Student Support Chatbot 🤖 that measures the energy consumption 🔋 of each query and response 💬, introducing sustainability considerations 🌱 into AI interactions.

✨ Team 2 – Elyse Tan, Elvin Lim, and Jovis Ang Jing Xuan – worked on an Education App 📚, creating user interface (UI) designs 🎨 and building several functional software component prototypes 🧩 that promote interactive learning 🖥️✨.

✨ Team 3 – Conroy Wong Jun Qi, Jake Yip, and Kaung Hsat – explored the design and setup of a Computer Vision Application 👁️🗨️ that detects pimples 🔍 and overlays a fun, digital sticker 🎉 on identified spots, blending AI 🤖 with playful user engagement 😊.
Each team explored diverse domains, including Natural Language Processing 🗣️, Software Design 🖥️, Content Management Systems 📂, and Computer Vision 👁️🗨️, stretching their creativity 🎨 and technical skills 🛠️ in modern software engineering.
